Julie Lear, e-RYT

Julie’s yoga journey began over 25 years ago during a time of profound change. In the wake of 9/11 and the birth of her son, yoga became a refuge, helping to calm a stressed body and mind and offering peace in an uncertain world. That grounding presence -- physical, mental, and spiritual -- continues to shape how she lives, teaches, and listens today.

Her classes weave yoga philosophy with modern somatic insight and thoughtful alignment. Through intentional, breath-led movement, Julie offers yoga as a moving meditation, inviting students to meet their bodies with curiosity, strength, and compassion. Expect a balanced mix of effort and ease, stillness and flow, to support self-awareness and embodied presence both on and off the mat.

Julie completed her 200-hour vinyasa training in 2017 and has trained in Therapeutic Yoga, Yin Yoga, ParaYoga Nidra, Mindfulness, and Ashtanga yoga. She has also completed a two-year meditation training and teaches yoga philosophy and the business of yoga within Elephant Tree Yoga‘s teacher training program.

Outside the studio, Julie is a psychotherapist. Her work is deeply informed by yoga and Buddhist psychology, with an emphasis on emphasis on nervous-system awareness, compassion, and lived practice. Connect through Spotify and @essenceintegrativewellness.
